The Christmas Pudding's weight needs all hands
The photo taken on 12th March shows the work at the Lambeage Hall, Coverack, which started on 4th March. Melvin Construction are undertaking the work, which is expected to take about six months to complete. A new platform lift will enable people of all abilities to access the hall, previously inaccessible to wheel-chair users.
The annual charity swim for Cancer Research took place at 12.30 on Christmas Day. 205 swimmers took part.

Children from Coverack School singing Christmas Carols to a big audience on 9th December 2023.
Here you can see the large number of people gathered to listen to the Coverack School children singing.
On Tuesday 5th December the senior citizens Christmas party was held in the Lambeage Hall, Coverack.
About forty-eight people sat down to enjoy the meal together. We were entertained by the children from Coverack School who sang songs for us.

Each year a team gets together to erect the features that light up our village. New members join the team each year, putting up poles, fitting light bulbs into sockets, and carrying equipment. Here the team is working in the field by the Bay Hotel, putting up the boat. Check the News page for two more photos of the work.
The 22nd August brought sunshine on castle builders and sand sculptors. The competition was organised by Helen, coodinator of Coverack Space 2000. Some of the entries are shown below.

On the morning of Good Friday a cross was made on the sand of Coverack beach.
Many people took part, carrying stones and pebbles to form the cross.

But do you know where they are growing?
261 people took part from the harbour, and a few more joined in from the beach. Being low tide, swimmers had to wade out beyond the harbour wall to enjoy their swim in water at 12 degrees C. The £1,390 raised on the day goes to Cancer Research UK. Thank you to all who swam, and their sponsors.
The children come with their lanterns to sing a carol to Patricia Bruce at Granville. You can see Patricia watching from the window upstairs.
Friday 2nd December
The team of helpers was ready when Ben Richards arrived with a tall slender tree.
It was soon put into its usual spot near the harbour, by the phone box, ready for the
Coverack Christmas Tree event on Saturday 10th December.
Coverack Christmas lights will be switched on and there will be a visit from Father Christmas, a lantern procession, and carols with a brass band.

Coverack Art Society is a friendly group of artists, who live on the Lizard Peninsula in SW Cornwall and meet every Monday to paint.

A black textile layer is being put in place, going down below beach level.
Swing shovels are placing large boulders on it, to hold it in place.
This is the first of four loads of 1600 tonnes of granite. It comes from the Lawer Brother's quarry at Long Downs, and is pictured on 17th August
