Danish Scurvy Grass (Cochlearia danica) is one of the early wild flowers to open. It seems to thrive in salty sites, washed by sea spray. This small member of the cabbage family, is rich in vitamin C . It was eaten by sailors, returning home from long voyages with scurvy.
Three Cornered Garlic (Allium triquetrum) has three angled flower stems. This flower, photographed on 31st March 2022 grows widely in Coverack. A member of the Lily family, the white flowers can be a tasty addition to a salad bowl.
