Cyril was born in Coverack and was a pupil at Coverack Primary School. He won a Charity Scholarship to Helston Grammar School.

After service in World War 11 at sea in the Royal Navy Voluntary Reserve, Cyril trained to be teacher, studying in Exeter and Paris.
It was not until his retirement that Cyril found the time to write his book, “Coverack Oasis”, about the history of our village.

Cyril kindly agreed to contribute to a video about Coverack, and I filmed him in 2004, talking about Coverack History.
